Good Friday, Christ Episcopal Family,
Yahoo! Children Sunday School begins this Sunday, September 16. Beginnings are such exciting times!
I miss telling everyone that Lee H. played at Coffeehouse 61 last night, Thursday, Sept. 13. I hope some knew by word of mouth and were able to enjoy the treat! Sorry I didn’t get this out in time. L
Cydney Wilkerson had to postpone her jewelry workshop schedule for this Saturday, Sept. 15. She has been ill and is way behind at work. I will let you know about the rescheduled date. We are still meeting though this Saturday to work on arts and crafts projects – wire crosses and garden picks as well as unfinished ones. Please come and help finish projects, start new ones or bring yours to share! The Arts and Crafts Festival is only a month away!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Tim Fagerburg for your wonderful storage design (with Mary’s help) of the Parish Hall storage room. He and Earl Lum, Vernon Anaya, and Buddy Hardy were constructing the storage units on last Saturday and Tim worked Sunday evening. Take a look at their progress.
Applause goes to Mike Kirklin who came to the rescue last Saturday. The air conditioner was NOT working in the sanctuary on Sept. 8, and we were all looking at a miserable prayer service on Sunday. Mike was informed of the problem, came home from Jackson and persevered until he discovered the problem and solved it. The sanctuary was cool and comfortable Sunday!!!! Thanks you again, Mike!
The Banns of marriage between Megan Elizabeth Sabol and Patrick Lee Martinez are published. If any of you know just cause why they may not be joined together in Holy Matrimony, you are bidden to declare it. This is the first time of asking.
Hey, I need a business or a lawn on a busy thoroughfare to put up banners advertising the Harvest Gala and the Arts and Crafts Festival and Lunch. Please let me know if I (Betsy) can use your property. Thanks!!!!!
Pastoral care contact person this month is Mary Chaney. Please call her with any pastoral needs for yourself or a CEC family member.
Choir practice has begun in earnest. Please come and lend your voice. Practices are at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesdays.
The Wednesday morning Bible Study has begun. They are reading/studying the book, The Gifts of the Jews, by Thomas Cahill. “Cahill takes us on a highly readable, entrancing journey to the origins of Western Civilization…(He has) successfully made the Bible interesting again by showing us how it can speak to us today.” Come join if you can!
